Primary Functions:

• Preparation and review of individual and business tax returns
• Preparation of nonprofit and trust tax returns
• Prepare tax projections for businesses and individuals
• Assist clients with tax questions
• Provide general business consulting services and QuickBooks assistance
• Assist with monthly accounting services as needed

Skills Required:

• 3+ years of public accounting
• 3+ years of experience preparing 1040 and 1120S tax returns
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Experience using ProSystem Engagement is a plus
• Experience using CCH Axcess is preferred
• Strong knowledge and skills in using QuickBooks

The firm provides good benefits and a flexible work schedule in the off season with reduced hours. During the summer the office is only open Monday - Thursday. We prefer employees to work in the office during tax season, so they are available to take appointments with clients as needed. Bonuses are given after tax season and in the fall based on hours worked and productivity. Opportunity for future advancement does exist.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Peterson Company Ltd is a full-service CPA firm in Waconia, MN. We are seeking a staff accountant to join our growing team. The position allows you to work on financial audits and tax preparation. Our clients range in size from small entities to those with multiple locations.

Shown below are the primary duties and responsibilities for the tax position:

• Prepare individual tax returns.
• Prepare business and nonprofit tax returns.
• Work directly with clients to collect information needed for return preparation and assist with answering questions.
• Assist clients with bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping in QuickBooks for tax preparation purposes.

• Audit small government entities.
• Prepare audited financial statements for small entities.
• Audit small non-profit organizations.
• Work directly with clients to collect information needed for the audit and providing recommendations and answering questions.

Listed below are some of the preferred skills and strengths:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• QuickBooks experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with ProSystem Engagement and CCH Axcess is a plus.
